It's no secret that as human beings we have a need to express ourselves and feel connected to others. To do so, we developed language and pigment to communicate and record our thoughts and observations.
Today some of these recordings are called Art; and the practice of creative problem solving an Art-form.
There are are no specific rules in art. Certain design principles and creative practices can be followed; varying as wildly or gentle as you would like it to be. Inspirations can be drawn from many sources, varying in medium and presentation. Art does not care if you are young or old, deaf or blind, educated or inexperienced. This wide range of acceptances and all-are-welcome philosophy allows art to serve many functions, such as therapy.
In recent years, Freudian psychology have given way to Cognitive Behavioral Training and Art Therapy as means for healing emotional wounds and stresses. Through exploring or making artwork, an individual is allowed the freedom to think and feel and react intuitively by reflecting on colors and compositions that aid emotional balance, opening up channels for positive actions and changes for improved productivity and social interactions.
Remember, art is all-inclusive. Whether you decide to do it yourself or to seek help, creating and surrounding yourself with original artwork can lead to greater self-awareness, better productivity, a calmer (or bolder) disposition, and even happiness.
Let us know what heals you. Can Art be that magic pill that makes the noise of the world fade?
